YouTube Gets a Mini Makeover

YouTube announced four important additions to its popular video service designed to improve the way users manage and discover new content.
The mini-makeover includes a new video end screen, which appears after a video plays. It’s a full-screen mosaic with additional viewing recommendations. (via mashable.com)

Apple Refreshes MacBook Pro Lineup

Apple has refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup with new processors and graphics chips Monday without changing any of the prices.
The biggest change is in the CPU department: the 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro now comes with either a 2.4 GHz Core i5 or a 2.8 GHZ Core i7 CPU, both dual-core.
The 15-inch version can now be had with either a quad-core, 2.2 GHz i7 or a 2.4 GHz i7 CPU, while the 17-inch version starts only with the latter processor. Both can optionally be configured with a quad-core, 2.5 GHz processor as well.
Also, the 15- and 17-inch variants of the MacBook Pro can now be configured with an AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics chip. (via mashable.com)
New Version of Gmail Coming Soon
A new version of Gmail featuring a revamped look, redesigned conversation threads and improved search is slated for pending released, according to an official video that was mistakenly posted to Google’s YouTube channel. Jason Cornwell, user experience designer for Gmail, unveils the new version in the video. The Google Operating System blog spotted the video and it has since been made private — but not before YouTube user crlsndrsjmnz had time to repost it. “Oops, you weren’t supposed to see that,” Gmail representative Andrea Freund tells Mashable. “Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more info on Gmail’s new look soon.” (via mashable.com)
Facebook Rolls Out New App Authentication Flow That Ups Privacy and Transparency
Facebook is granting all developers access to a new application authentication flow today that was announced at f8 last month.
The changes will make it clearer to users what permissions they are granting applications, and give them more control of their privacy. (via InsideFacebook.com)
